HOGANS DANCE, racing in suddenly improved form, came from far back in the last three-eighth* and. finishing gamely, wore down CHENG TU in the closing strides. CHENG TU came fast after going three-eighths and moved into the lead in the last eighth and might have won but for being overconfi-dently riddt n. ALTAVAR showed high speed, bnt tired badly in the last eighth. SON OF VOLTA raced forwardly for a half mile before tiring. NA ZDAK was given a poor ride. PARTICULAR suffered from interference soon after the start, but recovered fast and r:i.cd prominently to the stretch, where he came strongly and wore down AIVOS in the last sixteeni.li. AIVOS, showing high speed, moved into the lead rounding the first turn, but tired when reaching the last eighth. TEA CRACKER was forced back sharply while going to the first turn and was ridden wide thereafter, closed a big gap in the stretch and finished gamely. FLASHING was raced wide and showed a good performance. MISS LOTTA was far out cf it in the first quarter. OLD KICKAPOO showed good speed, but was not good euough for the winner. FLORIDA GOLD, much nsed at the start by acting badly, raced prominently throughout, but tired in tbe last sixteenth. AMYVALE was outrun in the early stages, but moved up fast after reaching the stretch and, continuing gamely, wore down CHEERS in the last twenty yards and was going away at the end. CHEERS showed good speed and assumed the lead on the first turn, but tired. HEUMITAGE, completely out of it in the first quarter, raced wide in the stretch, but finished gamely, and got up in the final stride for third place. BADGER FACE quit badly when bard urged in the last eighth. GRAND PRINCE was done after half a mile. LINDA tired early. ALTITTDE showed good speed for three-quarters and disposed of PUIMKSS EDITH, but tired badly in the last eighth.
