Illinois owners are well represented among the ninety-five different nominators to the Hyde Park Stakes, nineteen having made fifty-four of the 251 entries to the 0,000 attraction for two-year-olds. The Hyde Park one of three events for juveniles among the nine headliners on Arlington Parks stake-a-day program this summer, and with fifteen starters will gross 4,275. Albert Sabath is the leader with six nominations, one of which is Olive Sabath, a good winner in Havana the past winter. Shandon Farm, owner of Burning Blaze and the nom de course of R. J. and P. A. Nash, made five entries to the Hyde Park. Marshall Field, whose colors seldom have been seen in western racing, although he is former Chicagoan, has entered four of his juveniles, one of which is Nimbus, a colt by Stimulus from the good mare Nimba. His wife has nominated three youngsters, and the indication is apparent that trainer George Odom will bring the entire Field stable to Arlington this summer from Belmont Park. Other Illinois owners with four entries each in the Hyde Park are Fred M. Grab-ner and John Marsch, both of whose colors have been prominent in Chicago racing for several seasons. Among the local owners with three nominations each are Coldstream Stud of C. B. Shaffer, Mrs. John Hertz, Northway Stable of Norman Church, Pe-conic Stable of J. D. Morris, Morris Vehon, Wild Rose Farm of Val Crane, and Mrs. P. P. Flaherty. The remaining Illinois sportsmen and sportswomen with representation in the event are Calumet Farm of Warren Wright, R. M. Eastman, A. Bartelstein, Mrs. Emil Denemark and J. Lowenstein. Eastmans candidate is Charley O, the half-brother to Cathop and full brother to Mike Hall, hero of several Chicago racing battles and winner of the 00,000 Agua Caliente Handicap last winter. The largest nominator to the Hyde Park is W. R. Coe of New York and Wyoming, who entered a dozen of his two-year-olds. One behind him is the Greentree Stable of Mrs. Payne Whitney, and then follow Mrs. J. H. Whitney and Morton L. Schwartz with seven each.
