1 JAMAICA TURF NOTES e — $ Starter Cassidy suspended jockey George Fields for the remainder of the meeting for disobedience at the post in the first race Saturday. Ed Williams "Little Minch," has received a letter from Vice-President Curtis in reference to the proposed taxation on admission badges to race tracks. The vice-president stated that in answer to the latter stating that the taxation would ruin the sport in New York, he would call the attention of the finance committee to that effect. Otto Townsend joined the ranks of the ailing. He hobbled around on a cane suffering from a ruptured blood bessel in his leg. Trainer Frank Bray reported that Brandon Mint was seriously cut on an ankle in the Derby. Heroic measures were applied and trainer Bray decided to ship the colt East. Brandon Mint will be laid up for a brief period. Jockey R. Leischman broke a small blood vessel in his arm and was forced to cancel his riding engagements for Monday. Jack Healey, with the Maryland division of the C. V. Whitney stable, arrived at Bei-mont Park from Pimlico. J. J. Robinsons Eisenberg was severely cut in his race in the Youthful Saturday, and will be an absentee for some time. Lucky Tom was shipped from Louisville to Pimlico to fulfill his engagement in the Preakness, according to trainer H. C. Riddle. Trainer Creech stated that he would decide today about shipping W. R. Coes Masked Knight to Pimlico for the Preakness. Trainer Fred Hopkins brought Equipoise out on the track before the running of the first race Monday and breezed the four-year-old six furlongs in 1:14%. Roy Offut was an arrival from Los Angeles and will stay for a lengthy visit. Jockey Earl Sande has been engaged to ride the Mereworth Studs Mad Pursuit in the Preakness. Huffy, which J. T. Kermath purchased from W. J. Salmon, arrived at Belmont Park Tuesday. He had been turned out in Kentucky over the winter. Terry Farley distributed jockey badges for the Belmont Park meeting. Jockeys L. Fator and E. James reported at Belmont Park. Faireno, Blenheim, Unique and Don Tasker arrived at Aqueduct yesterday from Pimlico, consigned to James Fitzsimmons. Trainer H. C. Riddle received word from Pimlico that Lucky Tom had shipped well. He will be a starter in the Preakness. The steeplechase course was thrown open at Belmont Park Tuesday morning and horsemen took full advantage of the occasion to school their charges. Ike Peaiistein, who has been training a division of the B. B. Stable, resigned from that position. Trainer Fred Hopkins transferred to Belmont Park the two-year-olds Redress and Trimmer. Redress is a bay colt by St. Germans and Regret and is eligible for the National Stallion Stakes, while Trimmer is a chestnut colt by Mad Hatter and Margin, and is named for the Keene and Bouquet. Jockey S. Coucci reported to the clerk of the scales today two pounds overweight. It was the first time that this rider weighed in over the weight assignment. Coucci has ridden in 500 races and has accounted for 103 winners. He scaled 92 pounds Tuesdav.
