I TORONTO RACING NOTES f e Jockey A. "Whitey" Abel put in his appearance at Woodbine Tuesday morning. He lost no time in swinging into action, galloping several from the Seagram Stable. Jockey W. Lennie checked in from Tan-foran. He reports splendid crowds attending the San Bruno, Calif., meeting. J. G. Fair came in from winter quarters to make arrangements for the accommodating of his Kings Plate candidate, Tabson. Sam Hesseltine, who has the Mooney string looking in tip-top shape, sent Omar- een a half-mile Tuesday morning in :54, well in hand. Hesseltine is stabled at Thorn- cliffe. The end of the week will see all of the Kings Plate candidates of importance in quarters at Woodbine. Lloyd Gentry, trainer of the H. C. Hatch string -/hich embraces Easter Hatter, considered by many shrewd horsemen as the most likely winner of the old classic, will arrive Saturday from Hamilton. The Hatch string also embraces some smart juveniles of his own breeding. : One in particular, Pensweep, has been reported as working briskly. Jockey J. Blackburn, who recently joined the Brier Farm Stable, was at the Woodbine course Monday morning preparing accommodations for the jumpers Balmoral Tatoo, Neptunes Daughter, Night Off and Marcella, which trainer C. Morris is bringing down from Aurora, Ont. J. S. McDonald is looking after the Canadian-bred Lord Cardigan and the juvenile Jealousy for owner C. Frosch. Jealousy is a bay filly by Masked Marvel II. and Jealous Gal. R. Robertson, father of jockey A. Robertson, has purchased Wanderoo from C. V. Whitney and will ship to Montreal at the conclusion of the Maryland meeting. Jockey Johnny Williams, former rider for J. H. Louchheim, J. W. "Bub" May and George M. Hendrie, are other riders that will attempt a comeback in the saddle this spring. Williams has been galloping horses the last few months and is down to 112 pounds. The next meeting of the Canadian Racing Association will be held May 19, when the license committee will pass on applications.
