TRIMDON REPEATS IN CUP Wins Ascot Gold Cup Race for Second Year in Succession Ma-comber Horse Wins. Special Cablegram. ASCOT HEATH, England, June 16. Trim-don, winner of the event last year, repeated in the Ascot Gold Cup, two and a half miles, here today. Two lengths back of Brigadier General Charles Lambtons colt was Mrs. Arthur James Salmon Leap. The Aga Khans Ut Majeur was third, a length and a half farther back. Nine started and among the unplaced candidates was William Woodwards Sir Andrew. In last years running Salmon Leap finished third and Ut Majeur was unplaced. Trimdon was 15 to 2 in the betting. Salmon Leap was the favorite at 17 to 8. Ut Majeur was held at 7 to 2. While Sir Andrew failed in the Cup, an American victory was registered in the Granville Stakes. A. K. Macombers Gold Bridge was the winner, beating Lady Ludlows Greenore easily by five lengths. H. F. Claytons Thermometer was third. Gold Bridge was 5 to 2, Greenore, 20 to 1 and Thermometer, 100 to 8. The Ribbesdale Stakes, at one mile, went to Roseen Soleil, which beat Hill Cat by a head. Cameronian, J. A. Dewars Derby winner last year, was third.
