LATONIA TURF NOTES s : s C. R. Valentine arrived from Lexington with the two-year-olds Bonnie View and Kil-more. Bonnie View is the property of Tom Smith, while Kilmore will run in the interest of Valentine. J. R. "Pat" Devereaux, part owner of the Devereaux Brothers horses, became a benedict Thursday morning. Mr. Devereaux married Miss Margaret Curry, of Ludlow, Ky. Ambrose Eaton arrived from Bainbridge with Floriavena, Kentucky Flyer, La Reoyu, Wise Cross and Sanchyvonne. He expects Busy Ven and Noble Wrack. from the Ohio track the last of the week. The veteran Harry Gray, who accepted his first mount in several years at Lexington, will do the major portion of the riding for the Devereaux Brothers. Harry Jones is affiliated with the Bidwill and Lewis stable and expects to make an application for a jockeys license at the meeting. James Baylor took over Hollywood Sure to train for L. Shephany. She is a three-year-old daughter of Swift and Sure, which Shephany purchased from W. C. Goodloe. Hugh Gilmore, assistant to William Hamilton, starter, arrived from Chicago. Gilmore stated that schooling would start the first of the week. Jack Hodgens, another assistant, has been here since the close of the Downs meeting. The best work of Wednesday morning was registered by Tom Piatts Clipsetta Stakes eligible Bondella and Polly Mac, which covered five-eighths in 1:02, handily. They were on the track before the light shower when the track was in good condition. Breaking at the five furlong pole, they covered the quarter in :23 and the half mile in :49. Dominant Miss, another Clipsetta eligible from the Piatt stable, went five-eighths in 1:03, driving. She was accompanied by Miss Cameron and they were timed the quarter in :24 and the half in :48. Joe Schorers Time to Fly, a Latonia Oaks eligible, breezed five-eighths in 1:08, while Cheronap, an eligible for the Quick Step and Enquirer Handicaps, went a mile in 1:45, after sulking the greater part of the trip. Coast Patrol and Yarnallton, which Tom Piatt made eligible for the Cincinnati Trophy, went a handy five-eighths. Yarnallton, leading his stablemate, covered the distance in 1:04, with Coast Patrol timed for the dash in 1:04. Pass Christian, which Charles Bacharach named for the Trophy, breezed three-quarters in 1:19, handily. Faithful Hudson went along with him and covered the six furlongs in 1:20. Lilac Bloom, a Clipsetta candidate from the stable of J. B. Respess, went an easy half mile in :53, while Bidwill and Lewis Actuarius was called on for his first stiff work since returning to training by breezing five-eighths in 1:09.
