WEIGHTS FOR MERCHANTS AND CITIZENS HANDICAP SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. T., Aug. 8. Handicapper Vosburgh has kept champion Equipoise at 139 pounds for the Merchants and Citizens Handicap, one of the Saturday features. This is a gallop of a mile and three-sixteenths, and while there is nothing serious in Equipoises slightly injured heel, it is not expected the weight will be accepted. Larranaga is in the same race at 123 pounds, and Dark Secret has been dropped down three pounds from his Saratoga Handicap weight, when his assignment is 120 pounds. The others scale down from these and The Darb, stablemate to Equipoise, and Joseph E. Wideners Golden Way lead the three-year-olds in the list with 111 pounds as the impost on each.
