CONEY ISLAND TURF NOTES I s Jack B. Campbell, racing secretary, departs for Fort Erie, Canada, where he serves in a similar capacity for that seven-day meeting, starting Saturday. Mr. Campbell returns here Monday week, and during his absence Francis Dunne will look after his work at Coney Island. Apprentice G. Duckworth accepted his first mount on Jay Jane in the second race Tuesday. Jockey Kenneth Hoffman resumed riding Tuesday after serving a five-day suspension incurred for rough riding. Jockey C. E. Allen will go to Saratoga to ride the Calumet Farms Hadagal in a stake engagement at that track. Apprentice G. Miller departed for Dade Park to report to the James C. Ellis stable. Jack Middleton has arranged to transfer the western division of Mrs. Payne Whitneys Greentree Stable to Dade Park Wednesday night. Lon Jones and Sons Fair Rochester has fully recovered from the injury received1 while training for the Latonia Derby and advanced a notch further towards a return, to competition when he went a handy mile here in 1:45. H. H. Battle, trainer of the F. L. B. Stable, made a change in plans and instead of going to Dade Park he will remain here for the duration of the Coney Island meeting. Jockey G. South, contract rider for the establishment, who was the leading rider .at Latonia and who is setting the pace for the local boys, will remain here. W. N. Potts is bringing five from Lexington and J. Dolan one from Latonia,
