Conditions for the second summer meeting to be staged by the Devonshire Park Jockey Club, in Windsor, beginning August 19, are available in the secretarys office at Hamilton. No purse less than 00 will be offered during the seven day session. Trainer L. Gentry was taken sick Monday and J. P. Mayberry supervised the saddling of Speed Girl in his absence. Leo Echle, who has been in charge of the mutuel department in the members stand at the Hamilton Jockey Club, will remain in Canada Until the opening of the Maryland fall racing season at Havre de Grace on September 18. Three claims were made on the Civic Holiday program Tuesday at Hamilton. In the fourth race the Erindale Stable acquired Black Diamond from the A. J. Halliwell Stable for ,000. G. W. Brown took Maebee out of the second race from R. S. McLaughlin for ,000, and in the third race the D. D. Stable outshook A. Burrus for ,-and Georgia Lily, which raced for J. E. Small-man. The latter claim involved a monetary consideration of ,000. A. J. Halliwell departed for New York in an effort to secure additional racing material. Permission was granted T. Hullcoat to race Proteus without blinkers in his Tuesday engagement. G. W. Brown, who acquired Maebee as the nucleus of his stable, has turned the plater over to F. Higgins to train.
