MOHAWK CLAIMING STAKES Three-Year-Old Fixture Feature of Saratogas Wednesday Program Track Is Good. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 8. The Mohawk Claiming Stakes, over the mile route and confined to the three-year-olds, is the feature offering of the Saratoga Association for its racing tomorrow. Of the seventy-three eligibles for the running, which is the thirty-first renewal, a dozen are named and it should result in a good contest. "Bud" Stotler has named two from the W. R. Coe stable in Pomposo and Pom-poleon. Clyde Phillips has William Ziegler, Jr.s good sprinter Cattail as his hope and A. J. Joyner has named another sprinter in George D. Wideners Sation. Joseph E. Widener is represented by Hastipast and Clarence Buxton has Mrs. T. J. Lewis How High from his stable. Edward R. Bradley has an excellent nominee in Fingal and the manner in which he has been going along for Dick Thompson suggests an excellent race. George H. Bost-wicks Garden Message was scratched Monday to be reserved for this race and the John J. Robinson entry is Eva B., a good filly over the mile route. The others are Morton L. Schwartz Clarify, Maxwell Howards St. Stephens and A. L. Astes Character. Unless there should be more rain before post time, the track will be in excellent condition and it is probable that all of those named will be seen under silks.
