CRETE STAKES ATTRACTIVE CICERO, 111., Aug. 8 "With the stakes to be run during the eighteen-day season attracting many of the outstanding horses of the country and the stars of all the western stables, the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club will offer some of the most atractive racing in its history," said C. Bruce Head, general manager of Lincoln Fields, Tuesday. Mr. Head arrived Monday from his home in Louisville and immediately went about the work of directing some of the more important preparations for the meeting at that Will County course. The Lincoln Fields Fall Stakes, like those to be run during the three weeks autumn meeting of the Washington Park Jockey Club at Washington Park, last of Chicagos major tracks to operate this season, are closing on August 15, and while entry blanks have been out but a few days, a large number of subscriptions have already been received at the Chicago offices of the two tracks.
