1 CONEY ISLAND TURF NOTES 1 e $ Frances Dunne, who is receiving stake applications for the Lincoln Fields and Washington Park meetings, reports a big demand for the blanks. The stakes to be decided at Lincoln Fields are the ,000 added Lincoln Handicap; the Joliet Handicap; the Crete Handicap, and the Marquette Handicap. The Joliet is for two-year-olds, while the .others are open to three-year-olds and over. The Lakeside Handicap is the two-year-old stake at Washington Park, and the others are the Homewood Handicap, the Harvey Handicap and the Washington Park Cup. The latter races will be having its first running and is at the stamina testing distance of two miles and a quarter, the same distance at which the famous old Latonia Cup is run. The stewards meted out their second suspension of Monday afternoons racing when jockey W. Barr was set down for ten days for impeding General Campbell. There are 791 horses quartered at Coney Island. Arrivals expected in the next several days are Dr. A. Inclan, three; Dave Hurn, two, and F. Murphy, three, from Thistle Down.
