Joe F. Patterson, trainer of B. B. Jones Audley Farm Stable, arrived from Chicago Saturday morning to saddle Signalman for his Royal Oak Handicap engagement. Dancing Doll and Royal Blunder, which accompanied Signalman here, also were under colors. The trio will be returned to Chicago Sunday night. After Johnny Kacala incurred the wrath of the Arlington Park stewards Friday Patterson secured the services of Eari Porter for his horses. The lad returned to Chicago and Monday he leaves for Saratoga Springs to report to the Mrs. E. N. Lewis stable, which holds his contract. Tom Young, part-owner and trainer of Fiji, reports the filly doing nicely and he expects to have her under colors in the Fern-dale Handicap next Saturday. While here Joe Patterson named Late Date and Gallant Mac for the Ferndale Handicap and stated they would be shipped here to fill their en-gagemnts. The veteran Lawrence McDermott accepted his first mount of the meeting on Delgado in the third race Saturday. Apprentice W. Sebastin also made his saddle debut
