The latter began well, but was outrun for half a mile, then gained gradually and finished fastest. SYNOD, slow to get going, came through on the inside and finished resolutely. SAND CLOUD had no mishaps. LO tired in the drive. LADY LOUELLA failed to keep up under punishment. DUNDREARY, fractious at the post, straddled one of the stalls, and began slowly. CHARTRES, well handled, sprinted to the fitnt early, set the pace under clever rating, withstood the determined challenge of REPAID, then had enough lelt to withstand the belated rush of NOAHS PRIDE. The latter gained gradually, gave good response to punishment and was getting to the winner. REPAID, never far back and under strong reserve, moved to the leader entering the stretch, but appeared to surk after getting on even terms. NOCTURNLABE quit TECHNOCRACY was outrun.
