1 EMPIRE CITY TURF NOTES | s- Frank McManus, a youngster under contract to G. D. Widener, accepted his first mount on Friday the thirteenth. The lad 01 said he was not afraid of any jinx. Joe Morris stated that his Denon while being loaded for shipment to Empire City from Jamaica straddled the guard rail on the loading platform and inflicted severe cuts on his stifle. Vic Schaumberg was among the visitors and allotted several stables for the Saratoga meeting. Effective Monday, jockey S.
