Coughlin stable, plans to take the six head he is campaigning at Arlington Park to Hawthorne, when the meeting ends. The sextet consists of George Maypole, j Lillian Tobin, Cannons Roar, Illiana, Cathe-: dral and Board Trade. • Permission has been granted to add blinkers to the equipment of Trevallion and Gramarye, for their engagements Monday, . while Albuquerque, Dundreary and Black i Nose were allowed to use them in their ; respective races Saturday. Bye Lo was granted permission to take off the blinkers and ran without that equipment Saturday. Mr. Lou Waring, prominent member of The Jockey Club and National Steeplechase Association arrived from New York to view the Classic Saturday. He planned to return to New York Saturday night. Charles McLennan, popular official, will make a speedy trip to Detroit by plane, and after negotiating some business there Sunday, will return to Arlington Park to resume his work here. Jockey R. Jones, who came down from New York to ride Good Goods in the Classic, will remain for next weeks racing. After filling his engagement on Ladysman in the Arlington Handicap next Saturday, he will go to Saratoga, then return here to ride in the Arlington Futurity, which is ! down for decision the closing day of the meeting. Herbert M. Woolf , Kansas City sportsman, came over for the Classic and plans on re-t maining a few days before returning home. J. R. Allen vanned Hula and Brownie Martin over from Washington Park. The horses came in charge of J. Miller, who will supervise their training while here. Thomas Piatt, Kentucky owner and breed- er, made the trip from his home in Lexing- ton, Ky. to witness the running of the Classic. Piatt is racing nine horses here in charge of J. P. Sallee. Jake Zimbro, prominent sportsman of Henderson, Ky., is an arrival and will re- I main for the rest of the meeting. Zimbro j reports that stable room at Dade Park is about exhausted, and several applications received this week had to be denied on ac- count of the lack of room. Miss Mary Hirsch, trainer of Tartan Betsy reports the filly "bucked" her shins in her last engagement, which was attributed to her disappointing performance. The two-year-old Risky Gal, owned by R. A. Firestone and trained by Sherrill Ward, became unmanageable Saturday morning while schooling at the barrier, threw her rider violently, who was rendered senseless ; momentarily, but seemed none the worse ! after being given first aid. The filly escaped unscathed. 1 1 Through an error it was stated that jockey J. Kacala had been suspended for thirty i days. It was for ten days instead. Frank J. Hudson, chief inspector for the California State Horse Racing Board, who has been visiting the past week, will leave 1 by plane Monday for San Francisco. i George Remus, prominent Cincinnati at- torney, accompanied by Miss Belle Watson. his secretary, came over for the Classic and * will then journey on to Detroit for a brief . stay, going on to New York from there.
