RHODE ISLAND RESERVATIONS Stall Applications Received FrOm All Major Racing Points in the Country — Rushing Work. PAWTUCKET, R. I., July 19.— Frank Garrett, trainer for a group of prominent sportsmen, wired entry clerk Ben Holmes at Narragansett Park today for reservations for ten horses. The string, he said, will include Silent Shot, reputably one of the best mudders on the American tracks. That the Rhode Island track will draw horses from all parts of the country, was evident when the mail today brought word that many will be shipped from New York, Chicago, Maryland and Detroit. Don Yates, Baltimore trainer, is sending eight horses from Empire City. P. S. P. Randolph, Jr., a summer resident of Point Judith, R. I., reserved stalls for a string of seven, which he will ship from Rockingham Park at the end of the month. W. C. Reichert, of Belleville, 111., asked stalls for six horses, including My Dandy, now at Rockingham. Reichert is also bringing Hickory Lad, which won the Louisiana Derby in New Orleans last spring. Tom OBrien, who has officiated at numerous racing parks throughout the country, asked reservations for two of his campaigners, Yancy and Benares. W. F. Axton, tobacco manufacturer, will send fourteen horses here with his trainer, D. T. Morris. L. Haymaker, of Hyattsville, Md., will race six entries, including the two-year-old, Polish Beau, and the three-year-old Biff. Work at Narragansett Park is keeping pace with the entries, and Harry Kees, in charge of construction, is predicting that the first thoroughbreds will be working over the new course early next week. Several stables to house the early arrivals have been completed.
