i NARRAGANSETT TURF NOTES | • $ Chief engineer Mark Linenthal, with a string of victories over about every conceivable obstacle possible today, was waging war with Dame Nature. Linenthal awarded contracts which will transform the new SLOOO.OOO Narrangansett Park racing plant into a garden spot, the miracle to be performed within seven days. Men began laying sod and sowing grass seed immediately in the large triangular plot in the concourse and the infield of the track. Beds of flowers are to be spread about the course and hundreds of shade trees planted. Pat Horgan, assistant to racing secretary J. B. "Jack" Campbell at Narragansett Park, left Chicago and is expected at Pawtucket shortly. He will assist entry clerk Ben Holmes in completing preliminary arrangements for the August meeting. Another corps of workers completed their -task at Narragansett Park ahead of sched-ule. The bricklayers laid their last brick Tuesday. " ■ I .
