BROOMSHOT RETIRED TO STUD ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, HI., July 25.— Wayne Lewis, trainer of the extensive Wood F. Axton stable, reports the retirement of Broomshot. There is little hope of racing the daughter of Whisk Broom II. and Loch Ayr, and she will be sent to the Axton Farm in Kentucky some time in the future. Lewis, who sent the three-year-olds Beech Tree and Struggles to the farm, received the two-year-old Rosser S., a bay colt by In Memoriam and Witchery, and Gannon Nic, a brown gelding by Nicodemus and Dun-gannon. »
