H., July 26.— Twenty-three have been nominated for the Rockingham Park Handicap, ,500 added, which will feature the closing day of the meeting here Saturday. Dark Secret, the Wheatley Stables bay son of Flying Ebony, and Mr. Khayyam, the pride of Catawba Farms, have both been named for the race. As fine a record as Dark Secret has written in the racing books, the Phipps horse will not carry top weight. Because of his disappointing showing in the Hampton Cup Handicap, the handicapper has per- mitted the speedy son of Flying Ebony to get in under the reasonable allowance of 117 pounds, while top weight of 120 pounds will be carried by Faireno, the Belair Studs bay son of Chatterton — Minerva, along with Col. E. R. Eradleys Tick On and Mr. Khayyam. Sea Fox, the son of Man o War, which made a show of his opponents in scoring in the Hampton Cup Handicap Saturday, has been jumped five pounds, making his weight 112 pounds. Collateral, winner of the Independence Day Handicap, racing for Cor- nelius Vanderbilt Whitney, will be asked to shoulder 103 pounds n next Saturdays race. Mr. Whitney has also named Halcyon for the race and that horse has been assigned 112 pounds.
