This event, at five and a half furlongs, has been split into two divisions, with two of the Futurity hopes in one section and four in the other. Brookmeade Stables Step Aside and Everglade Stables Witan are the stakes candidates in the first division, which is carded as second race on the program. In the other division, which will be fourth on the program, will be Thomas C. Wordens Prince Splendor, Brookmeade Stable Special Agent, C. V. Whitneys Blackmail and Milky Way Farms Blue Armor. Prince Splendor and Special Agent have shown winning form at the meeting, while Blackmail and Blue Armor displayed enough ability to indicate further improvement. Featuring tomorrows program is the Fort Sheridan Handicap, at one mile, for which . such fast horses as Late Date, Bien Fait, Play Hooky, Chartres and Big Beau have been entered. Another good event on the card is the Park Ridge at six furlongs, for which Dusky Devil, Jens Son, Anarchy, Chance Line, Fairsickle, Sir Ten and Bright Shadow have been entered. To make as certain as possible the idea that Albuquerque will hold his great speed over the Arlington Futurity distance of six furlongs. Jack Howard this morning sent the colt that will carry his Rookwood Farm Stable colors through a workout at seven furlongs. Charlie Corbett, who will guide the speedy son of Monks Way and Pleasure. Saturday, rode the colt in his workout. The veteran pilot followed orders closely as he had Albuquerque under heavy restraint for a half mile, which was timed in :52%. Thereafter, Corbett asked Albuquerque for everything he had and the colt reeled off the next quarter in :23%, to reach the three-quarters in 1:16 and finished out the final furlong, in 12 seconds. Time for the entire trial was 1:28 and the Howard colt was ?oing handily at the end. This capable Kentucky representative for the seasons juvenile honors won his last-two starts at the meeting after running third in the Hyde Park Stakes. In his victories, he stepped five and a half furlongs in 1:05 and 1:05% respectively. Howard believes . his colt is superior in speed to St. Bernard, Today or any of the other brilliant juveniles due to contest Saturdays important fixture. St. Bernard, Elmer Dale Shaffers Futurity hope which qualified for the race by running five and a half furlongs in 1:04%, coming within one-fifth second of the track record, had his final trial for the stake this morning when trainer Alex Gordon sent him a fast half mile. Going three-eighths in :34%, St. Bernard finished out the distance in :46%. Other Futurity eligibles asked for speed this morning were Conte and Special Agent. The former dashed a quarter in :24% and the latter three-eighths in :35%. Conte, hope of Mrs. John Hertz, probably will be given a more serious preparation tomorrow morning. a
