PURFIBER WORKS FAST MILE ARLINGTON, Texas, April 9. Furfiber, Col. W. A. Jones Texas Derby eligible, worked a mile in 1:40 on a fast track here this morning. The son of Carlaris went along in hand as he ran the quarter in :24, the half mile in :48 and the three-quarters in 1:12, but the exercise boy had him under strong urging during the final quarter mile. Whiskolo, one of the Milky Way Farms eligibles, which finished second to Gillie in the Santa Anita Derby, went a handy half mile in :49.
