Won driving; second and third the same. ALWINTOUR, away quickly but outrun for the first half mile, moved to the pacemaker readily when placed to a drive, took command entering the home stretch, then held on resolutely to stall off BRIGHT DON. The latter bettered his position on the inside when called upon and was under extreme pressure at the end. FAN, squeezed back soon after the start, worked her way up stoutly when finding racing room and was going strongest at the finish. LUCKY TURN worked her way up steadily and came with good energy in the closing drive. ABERCROMBIE closed stoutly from a slow beginning. VANDA CERULEA showed speed for a half mile, then quit. PARADE GIRL, forced to race on the outside, came determinedly after reaching the home stretch and wore down the leaders to get up nearing the end. PATSEY BEGONE moved clear during the opening eighth, saved ground and continued with good courage when challenged. FESTOON, a keen factor from the start, continued gamely under punishment during the closing drive. EVENING HOUR was away quickly, but could not stay with the leaders after the first sixteenth. PARAGUAY TEA was never a factor. COME HOME could not engage the leaders. SMALL DEVIL displayed high speed from his outside position to hold a forward position early, but faltered during the last quarter mile. SUMAC was outrun. VENETIAN, away nicely, but outrun for the first half mile, swung wide when approaching the leaders, closed fast when straightened into the stretch and came out smartly after shaking off the leaders. MAD BETH raced in near pursuit of CLEAR KNIGHT in the early running, moved up stoutly when reaching the stretch, but could not withstand the winner, after getting to the front between calls in the stretch drive.-TRISTRAP raced in the thick of contention and held on well in the closing drive. SMEAR, permitted to drop far out of contention, finished with a belated rush in the last three-sixteenths. ACCOLADE was prominent in the early racing. FIELD GOAL closed a good gap. REPEAL bettered his position on thc outside until entering contention but could not threaten during the late stages. BRAINS raced forwardly for three-quarters, then failed to rally CABOCHON could not threaten at any part of the journey. SCOTTY DON raced stoutly for three-quarters then tired. POPO outran his field to the first turn, was rated in front until reaching the home stretch, was mildly ghaken up and held DARKLING safe. The latter secured racing room on the inside when midway of the back stretch, responded nicely after entering contention, but could not menace the winner in the final drive. OLD JUDGE worked his way up on the outside, was placed to punishment and closed gamely. GRAINGER h-as under stout urging arid had no mishaps. FLYING DERE could not threaten when hard ridden.
