NINETEEN IN HERTZ STRING Watch Him Heads Chic ago an s 1935 Band of Campaigners. High Hopes in Our Heigh, Leader of Three-Year-Olds Thirteen in Juvenile ; Division. Nineteen thoroughbreds, of which all but three are by the international star Reigh Count, will carry the popular yellow silks with black circles on sleeves of Mrs. John Hertz this season. A division of the stable is now at Belmont Park awaiting the opening of the metropolitan season, while the others are remaining at Columbia, S. C, where all were wintered, until the season is well under way. Heading the promising band of horses owned by the Chicago and New York, sportswoman, is the veteran handicap star, Watch Him, now a six-year-old. Five others in the stable are three-year-olds and the remainder are two-year-olds. All are products of the Leona Stock Farm, most important breeding establishment in Illinois and which overlooks the beautiful Fox River Valley about fifty miles north of Chicago. Watch Him, a chestnut son of Fair Wind and Watch Me, captured the Saratoga and Excelsior Handicaps last season and was narrowly beaten by Riskulus in the Arlington Handicap in one of the most thrilling contests seen at the north side course. He also shared in the money in the Continental, Riggs, Prince George Autumn and Michigan Cup Handicaps. Count Arthur and Conte are other sons of Reigh Count which exhibited good speed and showed much promise as juveniles. Six colts and seven fillies comprise the juveniles trainer Frank Hackett Is preparing for the seasons campaign. He intends to go slow with them, having reached the conclusion that the sons and daughters of Reigh Count are late in reaching their best form and they will be given ample time for development.
