The latter, unable to improve liis early position under good urging, responded to stronger pressure after reaching the stretch, and just failed to get up. LADY FEDERAL, forced the pace under good urging, reached the lead when LORD TOURNAMENT bore out, gave way to the winner, but held on well. HEROWIN made up ground in the drive. LORD TOURNAMENT took command at once, drew clear under strong pressure, bore out badly at the stretch turn, and weakened thereafter. LUCKIN was outrun. EASY, never far back and understeadying restraint, responded fast after a half mile, went around the field when reaching the lead, weakened in the last stages, but withstood RIZLA. The latter,, allowed to drop back when outrun, responded fast in the stretch and was wearing the winner down at the end. SOUTHARD, outrun for three-quarters, made up ground thereafter. MARY FRANCINE had no mishaps. JAMES BOY closed ground in the drive. PATCHEYE showed nothing. LUNA BRIGHT, under a hard drive from the start, quit badly in the drive.
