STEWARDS ISSUE LICENSES Forty-Four Trainers and Ten Jockeys Given Permission to Work on New York Tracks. NEW YORK, N. Y., April 19. The stewards of The Jockey Club Thursday acted on the recommendations of the license committee and issued licenses to forty-four trainers and ten jockeys to ply their professions on the New York circuit this season. Trainers licensed were as follows: William J. Baird, J. B. Belk, Matt Brady, Frank M. Bray, E. A. Burke, Frank Byer, S. Burnside, Arthur Carter, J. O. Donovan, George M. Fisher, L. D. Gasser, J. Woods Garth, D. A. Headley, James S. Jones, Joseph Kahn, Edwin Kennedy, Thomas E. Lynn, James McGee, James Mahoney, A. G. Marchant, Peter Morrell, Mortimer J. Murphy, Jack D. Odom, P. Petz, Clyde Phillips, Hubert Phipps, Edward Phelan, F. Portano, Charles Quinn, Joseph Ranhofer, C. Richards, H. C. Riddle, Thomas Rodrock, S. Rutchick, William A. Shea, E. Sietas, C. Hyde Smith, B. Stafford, H. J. Thompson, W. M. Wallace, John White, J. C. Williams and William Wright. Jockeys who received licenses were Edward Benham, Michael Corona, Francis Horn, Linus McAtee, Jerry Malzan, Charles Perna, Charles Rosengarten, H. Richards, William Saunders and R. Wholey. Licenses for trainers Matt Colford, Raymond Coon, Fred Kraft and William Robinson, and jockey A. Pascuma, whose applications were laid on the table at a previous meeting, finally were granted. The applications of trainers Charles Cafarelli, Charles A. Grand, Charles Miller, William H. Travers and Lou-Williams remained on the table because of their failure to appear before the license committee. The applications of Charles Reynolds for a trainers license was tabled pending further information as to his employer, and the application of jockey Samuel Renick was withheld pending information as. to his riding last year. The applications, of trainers. R. W. Blackburn, Bert Blume, Jacob Byer, and Harry Wakoff were tabled at Thursdays meeting.
