The latter, well up from the start and strongly restrained for three-eighths, held on well after taking the lead, but was not good enough. GRAY JACK Aveakened, but outstayed WHIPOWILL. The latter finished fast on the outside. RUNAMUCK weakened. CONASTANTO showed little. NORADO had speed, but tired in the last three-sixteenths. JUST BUCK, given, a hustling ride, could not menace the winner, but held on well in a fine effort. RARE BEN, away fast but unable to keep up, improved his position gradually on the outside in the last three-eighths. BILLIES ORPHAN, in close quarters soon after the start, raced to a contending position on: the; turn,- swerved out in the stretch and tired in thefinal -eighth. HOUR LADY was on the inside in the stretch. PROUD PRINCESS had no mishaps. BLACK MISS quit. RESPECT, on the inside early,- was taken back slightly before going to the outside on the stretch turn and. closing determinedly under strong handling, wore down HIGH- DIVER in the final strides. The latter, well up from the beginning, lost ground much of the trip, but hold on gamely. PRINCESS A. O. tired badly after showing; speed for three-quarters. DELANO never threatened. BACK LOG saved ground throughout and weakened after seven-eighths, but outstayed AMAZING. The latter bore over badly in the stretch. OPEN HEARTH quit. TEAROUT did not like the track. LADY MACAW, badly outrun for five-eighths, was taken to-the outside, on the stretch turn and came with a rush in the final quarter. JUMP OFF, well up from the beginning, disposed of GRACEFUL LAD quickly in the stretch, but tired in the final eighth. GRACEFUL LAD faltered after reaching the stretch. BRASS BUTTONS had no mishaps. -WHANGDOODLE was taken back soon after the start. MABEL KRASA quit.- MORNING FAIR broke slowly and was outrun throughout. The race was- run in a driving rainstorm. STORM ANGEL, under strong restraint for five-eighths, took command easily while racing wide on the stretch turrr, but tired in the last sixteenth, yet stalled off the bid of SADA. The latter, well up after racing 3: quarter and saving ground to the stretch turn, came wide for the drive and closed with determination, but could not get up. SHERRON dropped back as if through on the second turn, but came again and finished boldly. SMOOTH tired after making up ground. DURGA and DONDAY quit badly. BALLYHOO showed little.
