I CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES j s C. W. Bidwells Chicago Stable remains j here until Wednesday, when trainer E. L. Snyder will make the short trip to Latonia. Apprentice C. Beasy will accompany the stable. The A. B. Letellier stable, consisting of seven head, was scheduled to get away Monday night for Washington Park. Some improvement was noted in the condition of Mose Lowenstein, well known Chicago turfman, who has been seriously ill for ten days, according to a report from Chicago today. Threatened with pneumonia he was removed to St. Josephs Hospital in that city several days ago. His brother, Jake Lowenstein, was called to Chicago Saturday. Brentwood Stables Late Date, winner of two races here, will fill her engagement in the ,500 Inaugural Handicap at Latonia Saturday. Following that race she will pro-, ceed to Washington Park, where she is slated to contest one of the Decoration Day features at the Homewood course. William J. Hirsch shipped his stable to Washington Park Monday night. Additions to the Hirsch string are expected from the East in a few days. Jockey C. Kurtsinger, who came here from New York to pilot Tabitha in the Kentucky Oaks, returned East immediately after filling the engagement.
