CAVALCADES POST OF HONOR Assigned Top Weight of 127 Pounds for Suburban Handicap King Saxon In at 119Pounds. NEW YORK, N. Y., May 20. Handi-capper J. B. "Jack" Campbell has Cavalcade at the top of the list for the mile and a quarter of the famous old Suburban Handicap, to be run at Belmont Park May 30. This coming renewal of the old race that is an inheritance from the Coney Island Jockey Club carries an added money value of 0,000, and there were fifty-one nominations received for the running. Cavalcade, at the top, is required to take up his scale weight of 127 pounds. "Bob" Smith, who campaigned him so successfully to his championship for Mrs. Isabel Dodge Sloane last year, has promised that the four-year-old will go to the post. Taken out of training before the running of the Travers last year because of an injury, an effort was made to bring the son of Lancegaye and Hastily back for the 00,000 Santa Anita Handicap, but he went amiss almost on the eve of the running. His recent training at Belmont Park has been little short of brillaint, and it is possible he will be seen under silks before hi3 Suburban engagement. "Pat" Knebelkamps King Saxon, winner of the Paumonok, Excelsior and Metropolitan in his last three starts, is in the Suburban under 119 pounds.- This is just a pound more than he carried successfully in the Metropolitan. Discovery, in the Metropolitan under 127, is dropped down to 123 pounds, which makes his arrangement with King Saxon just five pounds to his advantage. High Quest, winner of the Preakness last year, and a stable-mate to Cavalcade, is at the same notch as Discovery. But these are actual weights. Figuring from the scale, William Woodwards Omaha is at the top. His weight of 110 pounds is two pounds over scale weight, making him give Cavalcade just that advantage. The son of Gallant Fox and Flambino, by his victories in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, was sure to head the list even though a three-year-old. It is hardly thought possible he will be sent to the post, for with the Withers and the Belmont as assignments, there is no good reason for sending Omaha out of his age division. The weights for the Suburban Handicap, 0,000 added, for three-year-olds and upward, at one mile and a quarter, to be run at Belmont Park May 30, are as follows: Cavalcade 127, Discovery 123, High Quest 123, King Saxon 119, Head Play 114, Ladys-man 114, Statesman II. 114, Mr. Khayyam 113, Singing Wood 113, Faireno 111, Roustabout 111, War Glory 111, Gusto 110, Omaha 110, Only One 110, Kievex 108, Observant 108, Rose Cross 108, Balladier 107, Identify 107, Today 107, Watch Him 107, Dark Hope 105, Plat Eye 105, Gallant Mac 104, Somebody 104, Collateral 103, Dogmata 103, Fleam 103, Gay Monarch 103, Hindu Queen 103, Box-thorn 102, Commonwealth 102, Good Goods 102, Sailor Beware, 102, Abbots Last 100, Cleves 100, Esposa 100, Young Native 100, Gallant Prince 98, Royal Guard 98, Finance 97, Gold Buckle 97, Gov.
