LADIES DAY AT BEULAH PARK Donna Barona Outstays Polisher in Close Finish Light Showers Fall at Intervals. COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 20. Donna Barona, one of the many outsiders to score, led throughout in the Herpichs Drug Stores Purse, fifth and best offering at Beulah Park this afternoon. It was only by the shortest of margins, however, that she lasted to defeat Polisher, with La Salle a close third. It was a rousing finish, the best of the day. Miss Helen Hatch made the presentation of the trophy, which went to the winner, to trainer D. Hoffman. Among the prominent visitors in attendance was Pat Gallagher, well known racing official. He is en route to Charles Town, W. Va. Rain threatened throughout the afternoon, and light showery fell at intervals, but the track remained fast for the first time since the meeting opened. It was Ladies Day, and a large crowd attended.
