AMQUI had the most speed, raced to a commanding lead early, continued gamely, but had to be roused in the final stages to withstand the determined bid of LADY CONFUCIUS. The latter, closest to the pace throughout, improved her position gradually inside the final eighth and was racing fastest in the closing strides. PANTAUR raced evenly without mishap. NAMEOKI, taken out of it at the beginning, closed with belated speed and appears to be a good colt. MASKETIER raced greenly. COURANT, far out in the track the entire trip, gave a good performance. " SERVANT PRIDE, outrun to the stretch, came to the outside for the drive, responded gamely to strong pressure, wore down the leader and was gradually drawing clear. SUPERCHARGE raced to a commanding lead early, tired inside the final eighth and failed to withstand the winner under severe punishment. PHILWEX, slow to get going, lost ground entering the stretch, but closed gamely under hard riding. SCOUT CHIEF, far out in the track throughout, gave a good performance. STEPONIT, permitted to drop back after a quarter, made a slight gain in the stretch. VISHNU tired after reaching contention. MINT DRIFT quit. Scratched 10343 Wigrose, 103; 10274 Susan Miller, 106. THERON forced the early pace, lost much ground approaching the stretch and ran out, ihen closed gamely when straightened. RUFFDAY raced well. DEWHURST was outrun. CHARMING SIR showed nothing.
