AGUA CALIENTE SUMMER PLANS 1 Racing at Mexican Plant to Labor Day, Anger Announces. Minimum of Three Racing Days Operated on Four-Day Schedule of Races Sunday Sport. AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, May 20. Agua Calicntes summer racing plans were made known today by official announcement from Lou Anger, general manager. Summer plans call lor racing at the Mexican plant until Labor Day, with numerous stakes, handicaps and special races, the first of which will be the Decoration Day Handicap, ,000 purse, at one mile. Anger looks forward with optimism to the summer season, which will run concurrently with the San Diego Exposition, furnishing an additional attraction for southlands invading hosts. The policy and program of the Caliente Jockey Club was outlined by Anger today as follows: "The third summer race meeting, to be staged at Agua Caliente in its existence, will officially open on Decoration Day, May 30, featured by the Decoration Day Handicap, one mile, purse ,000. "Thereafter there will be racing at Agua Caliente throughout the summer, under the. following schedule: "A minimum of three racing days per week operated on a four-day schedule, for example: Fridays, eight races; Saturdays,, nine races; Sundays and holidays, eleven races. Minimum total races per week, twenty eight, or equivalent of four racing, days for the horsemen. . A "When and if crowds attending warrant,, the schedule will be increased to four racing days per week, on a five-day schedule, with operations including Thursdays. We have every reason to believe conditions will demand such increase. "Furthermore, the Caliente Jockey Club is prepared to extend to five days of racing per week, on a six-day schedule, including Wednesdays, if public support warrants. "Every Sunday there will be a handicap of 00 or more for a mile or more, and purse 00 or more, for six furlongs, or under, with higher purses and stakes interspersed throughout the meeting. No purse less than 00. "Special Exposition attractions, such as Shriners Day, Scots Day, Meat Packers Day, Bankers Convention Day, and a host of others will be honored with racing days set aside for them at Agua Caliente. "We anticipate the biggest summer season in Agua Calicntes history and have every reason to believe racing success is assured."
