PROSPECTIVE STARTERS IN ILLINOIS DERBY 1 Three-Year-Old Stars to Contest Fridays 0,000 Added Race at Aurora Expected to Reach Fox Valley Course Shortly AURORA, 111., May 20. The three-year-old stars which will start in the 0,000 added Illinois Derby at Aurora next Friday have begun to arrive at the Fox Valley course. Sun Portland, the bay son of Sun Briar that races for Mrs. Silas B. Mason, was the first to appear. He stepped off a special Pennsylvania, express car shortly after noon, having made the long trip from Belmont Park alone and without mishap. The colt is expected to work tomorrow or Wednesday and will not be sent to the post before his Illinois Derby race. Black Helen is at Washington Park, where trainer Bill Hurley is working her. Just when she will be vanned to Aurora is not certain, but racing secretary Dick Leigh expects to have definite word tomorrow morning. Roman Soldier will likely arrive at Aurora Tuesday. The black colt Is also at Washington Park, but trainer Phil Reuter expects to give him his final workout over the Aurora course. Whiskolo, which will carry the silks of Mrs. Ethel F. Mars Milky Way Farms Stable in Fridays stake, is another that is -expected at Aurora for his final trial. Whiskolo is at Washington Park and is a certain starter. George Woolf is coming from New York to ride him. Another of the Illinois Derby threats, Mrs. Charles Hainsworths Blackbirder, is still at Churchill. He will be shipped direct to Aurora, as will T.
