Won driving; second and third the same. DENBIGH went to the front at once from the inside post position, opened up a good lead approaching the stretch turn and althouch tirine; npar the finish held MIGNON. The latter was closest to the winner all the way and showinc an improved effort, was gaining at the end. JAIPUR came fast in the middle of the track through the stretch and was gaining. BAY SALUTE was forced to race wide all the way and closed ground. MADCAP YANKEE. saved ground in the stretch and coming very fast next the rail in the last eighth might have bepn second had she not been pulled up when in close quarters in the last twenty yards. LYSANDER raced to the front soon after the start, opened up a good lead after going a quarter and was never in danger thereafter. WILDLAND made up much ground to come fast through the stretch, but did not seriously threaten the winner, though gaining at the end. DANFIELD was in close quarters on the inside approaching the stretch turn and was taken back, but came again to finish well. CANTRIP made up ground steadily on the outside. DOW B. could not keep up with the early leaders. DESERT HONEY and CAPABLE quit badly. Overweight Wildland, 2 pounds; Cantrip, 2; Doraldina, 2; Rotherham, 2; Shortage, 4; Capable, 2; Desert Honey, 2. LAPLAND took a forward position soon after the start, easily headed the field when ready rounding the far turn, and drew away in the stretch to win easily. NORTHCUTT came gamely on the outside through the stretch and outfinished PORTCODINE. The latter went along at a fairly even gait throughout. BEESON saved ground where possible and was going well at the finish. DARKAYRESS was never dangerous under ordinary handling. CHATTERLY and MEMPHIS LASS tired in the stretch.
