1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES J . One of the more important arrivals here was the unit of Mrs. Emil Denemarks stable which B. S. Michell campaigned in Florida. Unloaded at Churchill Downs Tuesday, the shipment included Owaller, a candidate for the Bashford Manor Stakes, Higher Cloud and Brilliant Light, Derby eligibles, and Nectarine, Corinto, Brown Feathers and Chasar, all eligible for the Clark Handicap. With a score of others, which have been at: the Downs for some weeks, Mrs. Denemarks stable is one of the largest here. Jockeys J. Dunbar and J. King, the latter contemplating returning to the saddle with the opening of the Louisville spring season, are-with this Chicago owned establishment. Jockeys Harold Tinker, and William Bog-anowski are arrivals from Hot Springs. Tinker will remain here until the opening of the Narragansett meeting while Bogan-owski has made no plans for the immediate future. J. P. Keezek, who shipped Pana Franka and Santerno from Hot Springs, is taking up the three-year-old filly Election Maid, owned by Mrs. Keezek, and the trio are at Douglas Park. James Smith, former jockey who for a number of years was connected with the stable of E. R. Bradley, has in the colt Derby Eve a candidate for the Bashford Manor Stakes. This son of Peter Hastings and Ma Yerkes and two green two-year-olds are being prepared by Smith at Churchill Downs. Jockey R. Finnerty, New Orleans boy, has affiliated with the stable of S. H. Stone. Quarters for George Clarks Rosedale Stable, which wintered at the Old Cumberland track near Nashville, have been set aside here. Trainer George C. White is expected to ship twelve from Tennessee, among them Silk Mask, Bandalore, Kentucky Blues and a number of two-year-olds, several of which were nominated for the Bashford Manor Stakes. Silk Mask and Bandalore are eligible for the Clark Handicap while Kentucky Blues is the stables candidate for the Kentucky Oaks. When assembled here the stable of J. C. Ellis, owner of Dade Park, will be the largest he has campaigned in some time. A draft of the Ellis horses raced at several of the winter tracks is due here from Hot Springs and will be augmented by ten or more from Ellis farm. With all of starter William Hamiltons assistants on the ground, schooling of horses will be a daily occurrence at both Churchill Downs and Douglas Park from now on. Confirmation that trainer Alec Gordon, with the horses of C. B. and E. D. Shaffer, plans to leave Coldstream Farm, near Lexington, April 13, was received by Churchill Downs officials. This stable is headed by Coldstream, one of the more potent western-owned hopefuls for the coming Kentucky Derby.
