I AURORA TURF NOTES j 8 Despite the unusually cold weather with occasional snow flurries, horses continue to move into the Fox Valley Jockey Club course, more than 200 already being quartered on the grounds, according to racing secretary Richard Leigh, who is assigning stable room. Arriving on Tuesday morning from Hot Springs were the horses of George Neal, Jack Bainton and Frank Abbate. They made up one express car. Jack Sirl wired for reservations for seven head from Lexington. One of the newcomers to the Chicago district will be the wealthy Cheyenne rancher Mark T. Cox, who will ship a total of twenty head here from his home, quartering part at Aurora and part at Hawthorne. In his stable are San Luis Rey, Bing Crosby, Nat Widow, El Toto, Bonsall, Pact, Obstreperous, Silver Crown and the following two-year-olds: Move Over, Move Up, Move Thru, Move Along, Move Aside, Move Away, Robin Hood and Topsy Behave. The horses are now in training on Mr. Cox three-quarter mile track in Cheyenne. Some of the horsemen already on the grounds at Aurora include H. H. Chopin, with three; R. Cochran, with two; J. C. Davis, with two; H. Dryden, with one; E. G. Hoffman, with ten; H. Hockenbury, with two; A. G. Tarn, with ten; Elmer Johnson, with five; Jack Klucina, with four; "Duke" McCue, with twelve; C. C. Kranz, with three; Albert Foster, with one; Blue Ridge Farms Stable, with ten; Luke Graham, with four; A. J. Halliwell, with nine; H. Herendeen, with fourteen: Chester Terill, with five; G. L. Tilden, with one; J. D. Lanahan, with four; M. D. Livingston, with four; Lou Meri-pol, with eight; E. F. Morris, with twelve; A. K. Miller, with five; Joe Neel, with five; R. L. Rogers, with six. Benny Creech wired racing secretary Leigh that he will campaign twenty-five horses at Aurora this spring, including his Illinois .Derby candidate Reaping. He also will bring for introduction to the Chicago district the last of the riding Parkes in "Chuck" Parke, third in the jockey standing at the present time, five behind D. Brammer, who is leading. Brammer graduated from the maiden ranks at Aurora last year.
