BOSTON PAL WORKS j A MILE IN 1:41 3 5 j 4 LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 8. A sparkling mile workout by C. R. Thompsons Boston Pal provided the highlight of this mornings training period at the Downs. Drilling over a fast track, the son of Bostonian traveled eight furlongs in 1:41, a new spring mark for Derby horses not campaigned during the winter. Breaking in front of the stands, Boston Pal reeled off the first quarter in :24 and then, joined by Mary Terry, a stable companion, went the half-mile in :48S and the three-quarters in 1:15. The only other Derby eligible given a prep this morning was J. L. Carricks Watercure, which in company with Gray Jack, breezed a slow mile in 1:49, the quarter in :27, half mile in :54 and "the three-quarters in 1:20.
