LIFT SMITH SUSPENSION AUSTIN, Texas, April 8. Jockey F. A. Smith, who was suspended during the Houston meeting by Epsom Downs stewards, who recommended to the Texas Racing Commission that the suspension remain in force for six months, will be restored to good standing April 25. This announcement was made in the following letter, which was made public today, to Thomas R. Underwood, secretary of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners: "At a meeting of the Texas Racing Commission held in Fort Worth on April 4, the commission voted to lift the suspension against jockey F. A. Smith at the close of the current meeting at Arlington Downs, which ends on April 25. Smith was suspended at Epsom Downs recent meeting, with a recommendation by the stewards that his suspension be continued for six months. He had previously, on March 19, appeared before the commission and was told by Messrs. McDonald and Anderson that his case would be investigated and that until such time as a formal order was entered he would stand suspended."
