FLABBERGAST, well handled and saved when outrun, responded fast after five-eighths, saved ground entering the stretch, forged to the front in the last eighth, and held DARKLING safe. The latter, outrun for three-quarters, closed with a rush. MYMISS, used up in forcing the pace, tired after offering a bold bid approaching the final furlong. GRAY PORTE sprinted into a long lead early and tired rapidly after relinquishing the command. PARAWICK had no mishaps. ZENKA made up ground. NANKIN quit. BOSTONIAN GAL was outrun.
