RAINY WEATHER BADLY HURT ARLINGTON, Texas, April 9. Jack Carter, who claimed Rainy Weather out of the race in which the horse ran so badly, and who has been making intermittent reports to the stewards on her condition, stated today that in the opinion of Dr. Peters and himself, the horse might be permanently injured. While hot applications and liniments have been applied daily, there seems to be little improvement and Carter stated that it would be some time, if ever, before the horse got back to the races. Dr. Peters is of the opinion that when the horse left the post in its race she injured the muscles of her back and these have not as yet responded to treatment. Unless there is marked improvement in the next few days, Carter will turn the horse out and take her up again in the fall.
