1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES I $ Danny Brammer and N. L. Pierson, the nations leading riders, now at Arlington Downs, continue their breath-taking duel for jockey honors, Brammer being in the lead with seventy-one victories up to and including Tuesday, while Pierson is just one behind the leading rider. Pierson booted in two winners Tuesday to bring his total to seventy for the current year. The Three Ds Stock Farms Turf Queen, a daughter of Vulcain Turf Star, foaled a nice colt Wednesday night by Ladkin. This brood mare is one of the three purchased by E. Paul Waggoner from Adolph E. Pons. Miramint, with a filly by Macaw at foot, and Sunny Ann, in foal to Flying Ebony, are the remaining two of the trio. James Penland entertained William Oches, widely known San Antonio sportsman, and a party of friends in the clubhouse today. Francis Polk, who was severely injured in a fall in New Orleans, that cost Homer Spears his life, resumed riding this afternoon and had the leg up on Clyde Troutts Hueu in the third race. j , . ;
