j BREVITY GENERAL SELECTION J. E. Wideners Star Choice of Horsemen and Turf Figures to Win Kentucky Derby. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 30.— While most Of the horsemen and prominent turf figures here have selected Brevity as the probable winner of the Kentucky Derby Saturday, others in the field are the choices of persons in this group. The strong leaning to Brevity indicates that he will have no trouble retaining the honorary post as favorite which he has held about two months right up to the race. Choices picked up at random here today follow: E. R. Bradley — "Brevity is the one to beat, but my horses are not out of the race." Herbert M. Woolf — "Brevity, mud or dry." Thomas C. Worden — "Grand Slam is my choice." Frank Rector — "Banister will win because he is the only horse with a Derby winners characteristics." A. B. Letellier — "Bien Joli if the track is fast and Grand Slam in the mud." Ro£«oe Goose — "I like Petes horse, Brevity." B. A. Jones — "Brevity all the way." Smith Baker — "It looks like Brevity to me." F. P. Letellier — "Brevity is the horse." Jake Lowenstein — "I look for Brevity and Bold Venture to fight it out." Bob McMillan— "I bet on Brevity at 7 to 2 and I wish I had more at a shorter price." William Palmer House Ryan — "Have not fully decided, but I believe The Fighter and Sangreal will take a lot of beating if the track is dry."
