— j I PIMLIC0 TURF NOTES f s — and Captain Zimmerman of the Hackensack, N. J., police, is anxious to locate William Doran, who is thought to be employed at one of the race tracks now in operation. Captain Zimmerman advises that a brother, John, died Wednesday. Raymond Workman departed for New York for a short visit before leaving for Louisville, where he is to ride Grand Slam for the Bomar Stable in the Kentucky Derby. Officials of the Maryland Jockey Club were notified that James Fitzsimmons would ship ten or more performers of the Wheat-ley and Belair Stables to Pimlico to finish out the meeting. The shipment is expected to arrive here on Sunday from Jamaica. Jockey Joe Renick, veteran rider who is under contract to Edward Riley Bradley, departed for Churchill Downs to report to trainer H. J. Thompson. Renick will have the mount on either Bien Joli or Banister in the Kentucky Derby, Saturday. A division of the Howe Stable racers will be transferred to Belmont Park for the meeting that is scheduled to open shortly. J. H. Stotler, trainer for A. G. Vanderbilt, shipped Identify and Dreel to Narragansett Park to fulfill their engagements at the New England course. Stotler also shipped Good Gamble and Purple Knight to Jamaica for their coming engagements. The Branncastle Farm Stable has purchased the contract on jockey J. Lynch from George Ogle. The youngster will report to his new employers immediately. Word was received here that trainer Dick Handlen would start Foxcatcher Farms Gold Seeker in the Kentucky Derby. Handlen sent for his contract jockey, M. Peters, who is riding in excellent form here, to pilot the filly in the western classic. Jockey Herbert Lindberg has signed to ride for the stable of H. R. Bain, Canadian patron, whose horses are being conditioned by John Bosley, Jr. The Brandywine Stable, in care of trainer W. M. Mulholland, will be shipped to New York for a campaign on the Metropolitan circuit.
