1 LEXINGTON TURF NOTES 1 Mrs. Payne Whitney arrived today at her Greentree Farm and is entertaining a house party comprising Mr. and Mrs. James Altemus, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Leslie, Mr. John Gaber, Mrs. Charles Payson and Mr! McClain, all of New York. They will attend the Kentucky Derby running at Churchill Downs Saturday. Mrs. Hal Price Headley entertained today at Beaumont Farm with luncheon in honor of Mrs. Christian DeWaals guest, Mrs. Donald Cooke, of ew ork; Mrs. Fred Rankins guests, Mrs. Leo Butler, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. W. P. Johnston, of Mooresville, N. C, Mrs. John Hartsell, Gross Point farms, Detroit, all of whom will go to the Derby. Dr. and Mrs. Fred Rankin gave a dinner this evening at Lexington Country Club in honor of their Derby guests, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Mayo, of Rochester, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Johnston, of Mooresvillt, N. C, and Mesdames Leo Butler, of St. Paul, Minn., and John Hartsell, of Gross Point Farms, Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oliver are entertaining a house party of Derby guests at their Poplar Hill Farm, they being Mr. and Mrs. John Burgwin, Mr. and Mrs. Snowden Richards, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Robinson, Miss Genevieve Bell, Mr. Charles Oliver, all of Pittsburgh, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schewel-koff, of Niagara Falls. J. E. Wideners Derby guests at Elmen- dorf are Sir Bede Clifford, Governor General of the Bahamas, and Lady Clifford; Mr. Topping, Mrs. Ethel Wetherell, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. B. Widener, Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Widener, all of Philadelphia. Mrs. Charles B. Shaffer, of Coldstream, will give a dinner party for several Derby visitors at the Lexington Country Club Friday evening. Several parties in private cars are due here Friday morning to spend the day and then go on Saturday morning to the Derby at Churchill Downs. Those having the private cars are Mrs. Isabel Dodge Sloane, Ogden Phipps, Col. M. J. Hartfield, T. F. McCarthy and C. C. Conway.
