ALSISTO, close up from the start, drew away from EISENBERG entering the stretch and, saving ground, was never in serious danger thereafter. RARE TREE was well up from the start and, forced to race wide on the stretch turn, could not get up. ROYAL CHARM made up ground in the stretch to finish well. LIOLELE began slowly and raced very wide while making his move. EISENBERG tired badly. ADIRONDACK closed much ground. ARMOND LAD broke down after racing a short distance. MALMAISON came fast to save ground approaching the stretch turn and, coming to the outside of PROCLIVITY in the stretch, wore down the latter to win going away. PROCLIVITY opened up a good lead while making the pace, but could not resist the winner, although saving ground in the stretch. MAKE AND BREAK went fairly well to hold the others. UNCLE LESS went to the front at once and, drawing away from CENTER LANE on the back stretch, opened up a good lead and was never in serious danger. GERTIE moved up strongly around the far turn and outfinished DIGNIFIED. The latter had no excuses and, after looming up dangerously around the far turn, weakened in the stretch. CENTER LANE was under restraint when headed by DIGNIFIED and GERTIE on the back stretch and in close quarters was never dancemus thereafter. AMERICAN EMBLEM weakened after making a brief move around the stretch turn. BOARDWALKER pulled up sore. Overweight — Uncle Less, 3 pounds; Boardwalker, 1. Corrected weight — Center Lane, 113. MALIA, off well, ran up on the heels of horses entering the back stretch and dropped back suddenly, but quickly recovered and, getting through an opening to take command approaching the far turn, saved ground in the stretch to gamely withstand the challenge of CANTRIP. The latter bore out badly rounding the first turn and raced wide thereafter, but gained ground steadily and was wearing the winner down »t the finish. MARCO was permitted to race very wide most of the way and might have been much closer under stronger handling. FANION went fairly well. SERGEANT LEE quit suddenly during the back stretch run and dropped from first to last place. MONKS JANE was done after going three quarters. Scratched— 25058 Amalthea, 105. JIM X. followed the pace closely under restraint and. getting to the front rounding the stretch turn, held on gamely under good riding to win narrowly. TRANSBIRD came fast after leaving the back stretch and. closing strongly, barely missed. DONDAY was never far from the pace and, responding gamely to urging, was close up at the end. LITTLE LAD was in close quarters several times and showed a good effort. BLACK MINNIE made the pace and went fairly well after beiru* headed. BOURBON WHISKEY was surrounded by horses in the last ei;hth and had little chance to extend himself. BUSINESS MAN almost lost his rider when he was badly bumped rounding the first turn. PHALAROPE leaped in the air at the start, was in close quarters several times during the running, and may have been best. FADING LIGHT closed much ground. Overweight — Business Man, 3 pounds; Weeping Waters, 1.
