MAXINE F. was taken under restraint when outrun, moved up fast on the outside entering the stretch, responded to urging, wore down MISS TROPHY and drew away at the end. CHANCE LIGHT was rushed into contention after the break, saved ground rounding the far turn, came to the outside of MISS TROPHY in the stretch and finished well. COMBAHEE. outrun to the far turn, worked his way up on the inside, v. as blocked in the stretch run. but finished eamely under pressure on the inside in the final sixteenth. MISS TROPHY showed high early speed, was taken under restraint after opening up a safe lead, was roused in the stretch run, but quit badly in the final drive. YANKEE SKIPPER, on the outside rounding the far turn, closed well under pressure. BLACK MISCHIEF showed a flash of early speed, but could not keep up when called upon. Won ridden out : second and third driving. YELYET MASK was kept forwardly from the start, overcame interference rounding the far turn, disposed of the leaders entering the stretch and drew away at the finish. AIRY GOING, away well and under steady restraint, was placed under pressure enterine the stretch, but faltered and pulled up slightly sore. FLYING CENTAUR improved his position steadily, came to the outside in the stretch and finished with a rush under pressure. SEAMYTH was rushed up fast on the outside nearing the far turn, made a determined bid entering the stretch and then hune. HELLESPONT ran in spots when placed under pressure. ACE OF SPADES moved up fast on the inside nearing the stretch turn and was blocked. NATHAN HALE showed a flash of early speed, but quit badly and was not persevered with. THIRD RACE 3-4 MILE. BRUSH HOOK was rushed into contention from a slow beginnine. came around the leaders entering the stretch and bothered SAN PIETRO, and then drew clear, winning with speed in reserve. GEAN CANACH showed improvement in the early running, came to the outside in the stretch and finished with a rush. SAN PIETRO showed early speed from the start, but was tiring slightly when impeded entering the stretch. UGANDA, well up in the early running, came through on the inside turning for home, but faltered after making a determined bid. IRONBOUND was jammed right after the break and was shuffled back and eliminated from contention. BRAYADO was crowded back in the early runnnig. FLAMING SWORDS broke from outside the stalls and showed a flash of early speed. QUEEN ELIZABETH began slowly and was never a factor. Corrected weight — Queen Elizabeth, 113. FOURTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. RED JOHN was kept forwardly from the start, made a determined bid when called upon, but had no mishaps when he stopped. SINGERS FOLLY saved much eround rounding the first turn, bore out on the back stretch and could not make up eround at the end. SECRET VOTE, away slowly, improved his position steadily and wore down CHATTERDOO in the final strides. CHATTERDOO, away well, saved much ground entering the stretch, but bore out slightly in the final eiehth. SMEAR moved up when called upon nearing the far turn, made a determined bid entering the stretch and then faltered. STARRY NIGHT and V1NCE FARLEY were rushed into command after going to the first turn and raced each other into defeat after going seven eighths. BILLOWY WAVE was outrun in the early stages, improved her position steadily on the inside, forced her way between the leaders rounding the stretch turn and finished with goods courage on the inside. BEAVER LAKE outran his field to the first turn; was rated along steadily but wai bothered in the stretch run when he appeared to be beaten. ROSS was placed under pressure on the baclc stretch, but could not menace the leaders. PRINCE CHARLO flattened badly and was not persevered wititf in the stretch run. The others had no mishap in the running. Corrected weight — Billowy Wave, 112.
