BRADLEYSCORESDOUBLE » Bow to Me and Billionaire Triumph at Churchill Downs. • Epinard Colt Proves Best in Bonny Castle Purse — Jockey Balaski Shares Honors. ■ LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 6.— Completing a double for his stable before a large and highly enthusiastic crowd, the Epinard colt. Bow to Me carried Edward R. Bradleys white and green colors to victory in the Bonny Castle Purse, one of several outstanding races on todays unusually attractive midweek program at Churchill Downs. Backed into short priced favoritism to take the Bonny Castle Purse which engaged six three-year-olds over seven furlongs for his first triumph of the year, the score of the Bradley horse was a popular one. Running the distance on a fast track in 1:94%, Bow to Me scored decisively as Capt. Cal, which raced to second place was some three lengths away from him at the finish. Show honors went to Teddy Haslam with Silas leading Rollin Home and Kailin. Lester Balaski, who was astride Bow to Me, had guided the previous Bradley winner, Billionaire. The Bonny Castle Purse saw a fast pace as Rollin Home, the leader for more than a half mile, travelled the opening quarter in :23 and four furlongs in :46% and with Capt. Cal indulged with the task of forcing Rollin Home to give such a high order of speed to hold the lead, Bow to Me had the benefit of the duel. ROLLIN HOME QUITS. Entering the final quarter, Capt. Cal shot to the front but Balaski was right after him with the Bradley horse and after passing the former more than a furlong from the finish, Bow to Me came on to make the victory decisive. Meantime, Rollin Home had quit badly and all of the others, except Kailin, succeeded in passing him, Teddy Haslam defeating Silas by four lengths for show honors. In the Golden Maxim Claiming Purse, another of the features, Thomas C. Wordens Billy Jones, also at odds-on, made good. He opposed seven platers of the top flight over one mile and led for the entire distance. Gilbert Elston finished second and Water-splash third. In the opening half the victor easily held Watersplash at a safe distance and after South Gallant had offered a bid en the stretch turn, experienced no difficulty retaining a wide margin over Gilbert Elston. Rated under restraint for about three-quarters, Gilbert Elston finished stoutly but his finish fell far short as the Worden horse sped past the line of finish a length and one-half before the M. Goldblatt representative. Billy Jones ran the distance under 115 . pounds in 1 iSTi. L. Haas was in the saddle. J CHICAGO OWNER WINS. Ed Snyder saddled another winner for H. H. Cross Chicago-owned Tranquillity Farm Stable, when Alice G. led the heavily supported Autograph, Pharolar and eight other juveniles to the end of the first race at four and one-half furlongs. Ridden by the veteran, Willie Moran, the Macaw filly took command soon after the start and, drawing away rapidly, came to the stretch with a comfortable advantage. During the last stages, Moran took a hold on the winner and the finish found her a half of a length before Autograph, which followed in closest pursuit from the start. For five-sixteenths Weapon held third place, but she gave way to Pharolar, which was much the best of the others at the close. The winner scoring her second straight triumph, ran the distance in :5t% and was well regarded in the wagering. The Denemark colors were successful in the second race when Flavor, which shared favoritism with Southern Belle, got up in the last stages of the three-quarters sprint to lead the latter by a length and a half. Sky Pirate was third, a length and a half in the wake of Southern Belle, and a nose before the fast-finishing Erla. Southern Belle, however, held on in fine style, only tiring near the end. Billionaire, full brother to Brokers Tip, 1932 Kentucky Derby winner and one of the choices for Saturdays renewal of the Bash-ford Manor Stakes, carried Col. E. R. Brad-I leys green and white silks to their first score o. the meeting when he triumphed in ! easy fashion in the Humming Bird Purse, which served as the third race. Hy Sonny was second and Josh the best of the ten other maiden juveniles. The winner, a son of Black Toney and Forteresse, which bolted in his previous start, showed improvement with the addition of blinkers to his equipment and, although he was a trifle slow in getting under way, he lost little time in reaching the lead. During the run through the stretch, where Hy Sonny and Rome Haul offered bold challenges, Lester Balaski was forced to put the colt to strong pressure, but he responded in fine style to be three lengths 1 before Hy Sonny at the end. The same mar-I gin separated Hy Sonny and Josh, with the I latter getting up in the last strides to beat Rome Haul by a nose for minor honors. A
