PIMLICO TURF NOTES | $ s The steeplechasers of Thomas W. Durante have been transferred to New York by trainer Charles Douglas. Apprentice C. Coffman has signed to ride for the Virginia horseman, J. B. Belk. The stable will be campaigned at Hagerstown, Maryland. Ollie Eisman, track superintendent at Hagerstown, Md., arrived for a conference with racing secretary Edward J: Brennan and stated that the Hub city course is rapidly rounding to peak condition. Eisman will inspect the half mile oval at Belair, Maryland and report on changes required for the proposed meeting to be held at that point. Mutuel manager Mortimer M. Mahony has made elaborate preparations to handle a banner crowd for next Saturdays running of the Dixie. Every available cashier and sellers booth will be thrown open, including those recently installed in the center field. Starter James Milton has added Making Time and Wickcliffe to the schooling list. The horses of Samuel S. Sands and C. R. Fleischman will be shipped to Rockingham Park in care of trainer Thomas. Bonham at the conclusion of the Pimlico meeting. The Pimlico stewards issued the following ruling: "Further entries of the horses Apathy, Militiaman and Okay Winchell are ordered refused until the establishment of ownership has been satisfactorily supplied to the Maryland Jockey Club." Gwyn Tompkins came from his home in Warrenton, Va., for Wednesdays sport. Edward S. Welter has been appointed to serve as starter during the ten-day race meeting to be conducted by the Hagerstown Fair Association beginning May 19. ยป
