| PREDICTS BIG ELIGIBLE LIST FOR LATONIA DERBY LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 6.— With the nominations of several starters in the Kentucky Derby and other likely three-year-old prospects that did not participate in that Downs fixture last Saturday already received, Col. Matt J. Winn anticipates a striking list of entries to the Latonia Derby, down for renewal on May 23, opening day of the Latonia meeting. Subscriptions to the race have been received from Coldstream Stud, E. R. Bradley, Dixiana, Mrs. S. B. Mason, Milky Way Farms. Tranquillity Farms, Calumet Farm and other large stables. And, as entries do not close until midnight tonight, additions to the number already in are expected. To this old fixture the Latonia Jockey Club will add 5,000 and an additional ,000 should Bold Venture, winner of the Kentucky Derby, account for the race. Bold Ventures nomination is expected, but there has been no definite announcement as to ; whether the Kentucky Derby winner will return west for the Latonia race. Entries for other of seven stakes to be run i during the thirty-seven day meeting at the j Covington track also were reported coming I in in every mail and from many parts of the j country. Latonia stakes programs will in-i elude, in addition to the Derby, the ,000 added Quickstep Handicap, ,000 added ! Clipsetta Stakes, ,000 added Enquirer Handicap, ,000 added Cincinnati Trophy, ,000 added Latonia Oaks and ,000 added Inde-: pendence Handicap. The values of six of the stakes is double that of last year and purses for overnight races substantially increased over 1935.
