MANAGER BILL, away in the first flight, took command readily when reaching the final turn, was hard urged thereafter and drew out slowly during the stretch run. CLEVER GIRL went prominently in the early racing and rallied nicely when placed to a hard drive in the last five sixteenths. TAUNTON, away poorly, had too much taken out of him and tired after interfering with CLEVER GIRL. WICKCLIFFE closed a good gap. VANDA CERUEA opcneLd up a long lead early, but flattened out when caught. BALLY BAY had no excuses. SUN SCOUT was outrun after breaking verv «low. EL DORADOR, shuffled back soon after the start, went up on the inside going to the second itnce to reach a forward position, took an easy lead at the eighth fence, then fencing boldly thereafter, held the pace safely. BLACK FEATHER went strongly from the start, challenged stoutly going to the tenth fence, hut was held safe for the remainder of the trip. THE SPY showed a good effort and was best of the others. WORLD SERIES was unable to reach a contending position. SWAGGER STICK lost ground for the entire trip, hut showed a good effort. BOLD FELLOW was racing in third place after clearing the next to last fence, but lost his rider on the flat when one of his stirrup leathers snapped. WHISCENDA, quick to begin and saving ground while in command, rallied gamely to punishment when straightened into the stretch, was inclined to bear out during the closing eighth, but came out slowly* ALEXANDRINE forced a steady pace from the beginning, made strong efforts but was not good enough. STORY TIMF followed within striking distance of the leaders and came determinedlv under a hard drive. OVERPLAY circled his field and finished gamely. PREVARICATE raced evenly. KEARSARGE, having much more speed than usual, forced a steady pace while following BADGE OF HONOR, ■ I III— id command when rearhing the stretch and drew out as if much the best. BADGE OF HONOR outran his field to the first turn, was steadied until challenged, but was no match for the winner when collared. ROWES CRUMP, slow to gain his best stride, circled his field and came gamely in the lata stages. BLUE ALICE was unable to better her position after racing in the first flight. CARVOLA, away slowly and forced to race on the outside, bettered her position steadily when in full stride, closed full ot run when straightened into the stretch and drew out smartly after displacing the leaders. MASKED GAL worked her way into a contending po ition entering the stretch and held on with good energy in the closing drive. LADYS BEAU, unruly at the post, displayed nice speed to open up a clear lead at the turn, but tired in the last eiehth. SON OF TROY tired after having speed in the first half mile. LIGHT was awav pooriy and never was a Jangerous factor. MICROBE was also away poorly and had no chance. SCUDDER quit, as did STAGE WHISPER. PREVENTION broke very slowly. BUCK LANGHORNE, rated for the first three-quarters, wore LEGUME down when reaching the stretch, but could not withstand the winner under severe pressure. LEGUME broke sideways, but had too much taken out of him and tired in the last quarter mile. MORlLUCK was gainine steadily in the last half mile. BROKERS TIP saved ground all the way, but could not threaten. PERADVENTURE broke toward the outside when the break came and crowded BUCK LANGHORNE and BROKERS TIP. SEVENTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. APPREHEND, handling his weight nicely, was allowed to race along on his own courage on the outside of the leaders, railied when shaken up in the last five sixteenths, swung to the outside for the stretch drive and was up in the last fifty yards. MISS SNOW raced in the thick of contention early and fought it out willingly after assuming a slight lead in the last eighth. DISTRACTING, permitted to drop out of contention, closed with a belated rush in the late stages. CHIEF HOLLIS, a strong factor from the beginning, held on with excellent courage when the final issue c:mie. ALANAD had good speed early, but failed to rally when put to a hard drive. WISHING STAR, away slowly, went to the outside to improve his position, then was carried out ail during the stretch. JOBAKHETA shook off JUSTA GLIDER and GOODY GOODY, but tired during the stretch drive. HAPPY EASTER was sent up fast midway of the back stretch, moved into a forward position at the turn, but faltered in the final drive when made too much use of. MANUAL was crowded back leaving the back stretch, then came again when clear. GOODY GOODY tired after holding a forward position. DEAR/.IN went evenly throughout. JUSTA GILDER quit in the last five sixteenths. The others were outrun.
